Is America Becoming Anti-Christian?

The separation between church and state is something that most Americans are rooting for.  But why?  When our country was not founded off the separation of church and state, in fact it was founded of basic Biblical principals.  Before this nation went on this crusade to have a God free nation, I feel like we had a lot less problems in this country.

When you look at the idea of America.  Look at our money that says “In God we Trust.”  Our pledge of alliance that says “One nation under God.”  And in our court system when they use to place their hand on the Bible and give the famous quote that we all know “ I swear to tell the truth the whole truth so help me God.” Is now taboo, in the United States that we are living in.

I will not get into the whole passing of gay marriage or the recent agenda’s to get rid of the Christianity that our nation has been built on  The bigger picture is that we need to look at all of this and determine what in the world is going on here.  Christians are no longer being seen as good people but rather as intolerant crazy people who do not want to change with the times.

The last time I checked, God was the same now, then, and forever.  All the stuff that has gone on in the world and that is going on in the world today has been seen and predicted by God.  And guess what, as Christians we can chose to recognize what is going on and prepare for it, or let go of our senses and go with popular culture.

Image result for american anti christianWhen you look at the news with the shooting of a church.  And it all was soon forgotten as soon as the supreme court passed gay marriage.  What is going on in our world we we as people have become so fickle. Fox news reports that the 10 commandants are to be removed from the court building where it has been sitting and causing no one harm to anyone for all of this time.  What is the sudden urge to erase Christianity from our nation’s history, when it is our nations history.

In the United States we are screaming our freedom from the mountain tops, but where are the freedom for Christians.  And if we do not stay diligent and keep our eyes open, we will miss it all together.  I cannot tell you how many news reports I have seen that talk about the “Doomsday Christian” that speaks out about the end of the world every time something bad happens.  And they mock us as if believing in the Bible and being watchful as to what God tells us to be watchful is crazy.

But the end of the world is coming sooner or later.  And overtime we have become desensitized to the weirdness and wrongdoings of the world.  I do not care how progressive the world gets, it does not seem right to me that there are some people in the world that are half man and half woman.  They have gotten breast put on their body but still have a penis.  But for some reason or another, people being half male and half female has become completely normal, and to question this, means that we are unaccepting.

Have we ever stop to think about what God would think about all of this.  Are we so busy trying to be open and accepting to everyone that our morals are just becoming a circus.  And for me to even say this is unpopular I am sure.   Christian people that either are afraid to say that because of what other people may think, or Christians somehow feel that the word of God is outdated.

Either you believe that God’s word is true now, then, and forever or you think it is something that can be changed by man.  And if you think that it is something that can be changed by man then you mine as well say that you do not believe in God at all.  Because believing in God is understanding that God is all knowing, He created everything, knowing that He is unable to lie, and knowing that what God wants us and commands us to do is the truth.

I am going to tell you a little true story about myself.  At a job I was in, my supervisor was gay and she invited me to her wedding.  I chose not to go.  However, I did not hate her as a person, I just did not want to go to her wedding.  Just like if she did not want to come to my wedding I would have to accept that.  Well she did not accept it.  She knew I was a Christian and chose to openly persecute me for not wanting to go to her wedding.  For not believing in what she wanted me to believe in.  This was done on a smaller scale, but can you imagine that this type persecution are going to happen to Christians everywhere.  We are not going to be allowed to practice our beliefs and be left alone, but rather other people’s beliefs are going to be forced on us.  And if we refused to accept others people’s belief, then we are going to be seen as intolerant.

Now you may think I am going too far, but these things have already happened.  Christians have been sued because they did not want to make a gay couples wedding cake, a firefighter fired for openly praying with a man that was dying, a child in suspended from school for saying God bless you when a fellow class mate sneezed.  Is this freedom of religion why have so many Christians gotten in trouble for trying to verbalize their beliefs?  Just some food for through for you to digest in your system for the day.

Relating to Phaedra Parks, I have been there!

As I was watching the Real Housewives of Atlanta (my guilty pleasure), I can say that I have been relating to the character Phaedra.  For those of you who do not know my son’s father was incarcerated for the past 6 years since my son was born up until about 6 months ago (my son is 6 now).  If you want to know more about this story click here and here for those blogs.
Image result for phaedra parks and apollo nidaIn any case it really saddens me how hard people come down on Phaedra.

Unless you have been faced in a situation in which you have to take your child into a prison then you have no idea how she feels.  Unless you are faced with a situation where your son has no father and his father figure is not a good one because he keeps committing crimes, then you have no idea how she feels.  Unless you are a single mother trying day in and day out to do the best thing for your son, you do not know how she feels.  Well I know how she feels because; I have been there.

I did used to take my son to see his father in prison. Taking a small child in prison is not an easy thing.  Taking off his diapers, shoes, not being able to bring any snacks in there in case he gets hungry is hard work.  And the most thing is the struggle in your head wondering if you are even doing the right thing.  No normal person wants to get their child use to the idea of a prison and thinking that this type of behavior and/or situation is normal.  When my son was 2 or 3 he would ask why his dad could not come out?  Why he had to stay there, why his father could not see him?  He did not understand why we would go to this guarded place to see his father and never got a chance to see his father in his home life.

I would get frustrated getting up at the crack of dawn not knowing if I would get a visit, because one of his girlfriend may have visited him already.  Or if our visit would be 30 minutes or two hours and having to drive hours in order to get there.  None of that was easy for me as I am sure it is not easy for her.

Not to mention that she is a lawyer and that is a bad reflection on her.  He knew her profession before he committed the crime and did he not once think that she may have repercussion in her profession because of his wrongdoing.  For myself, I was given a job as a correctional counselor in a prison NOT where my son’s father was.  The offer was retracted because I was visiting my son’s father in prison and they did not feel that was appropriate interaction for a counselor to have.  Someone else’s actions that affected my life.

So while everyone sees it from Apollos side, I see it from hers.  She does not have to do anything in order to make his life comfortable, he made his bed so he mine as well lie in it, and we cannot get on Phaedra because she is refusing to compensate for his mistakes.

Image result for we need moneyI am please to announced that I along with three other wonderful ladies, will be involved with an opportunity starting May 1st.  I will be starting a new show named “Three Ways In The Morning.”  Get you mind out of the gutter if you are thinking something sexual and nasty (just kidding).  The show will include all latest celebrity news, musical guests appearances, interviews, and girl talk women. We seek to be entertaining and to bring social awareness.

Aside from all of this, it is my personal belief that we need to have more positive people and discussion in the media anyhow.  If you read my blog, then you know how I feel about this.  Since this is an independent project, we do need people to back our project with money.  Do not worry I am not going to ask you for hundred and thousands of dollars (unless you want to), I do not like when people do that to me.  Instead, I am going to say if you feel lead to give and support the project then please do so.  No donation is too small.  I hope this is one of the next steps in my journey to spread the way I see the world.  If you want to support please click here to do so.  If you want to know more about the broadcast, then please click here to do so.

Learning To Love Yourself, Flaws and All.

During the Grammys,Sam Smith made a speech about how he learned to succeed. He stated that he tried to loose weight and be like everyone else and it was not until he learned to do his own thing that he finally started to succeed.

How many of us can resonate with what he is saying?  In case no one else wants to admit it, I will admit that I was once like this.  I used to look at other people’s lives, other peoples dreams, and I would wonder why God would not bless me with the things that they had or bless me in the way that He has blessed them.

I have always had a thicker figure.  I am a darker skinned African american female. According to one Psychology Today expert (see here).  Black women are the more unattractive of all the races of women.  For myself, I grew up always thinking I was fat.  Always thinking that I was not as pretty because I was darker, and always wanted someone else' life.

Image result for learning to love yourselfAs a teen I used to diet so much, exercise obsessively, and barely eat any food.  Now I know that I suffered from  an eating disorder.  And no matter how small I got, I would still look in the mirror and never feel like I was skinny enough.  Despite other people telling me I had lost so much weight that I looked like a crack addict.

My point is that I was trying to be something and someone that I was not intended to be.  And because of it I was never satisfied.  It was not until I heard God tell me that I was being ridiculous.  I was being obsessive about my weight and I was idolizing someone else's ideas of beauty, someone else's gifts, and someone else's life instead of finding out what my own were.

The point that I am trying to make that if we always covet what someone else's is and someone else's life then we are never going to be satisfied.  God has blessed them to be the way that they are, and therefore there is no reason for us to try to imitate or be them.  There is already a them.  They are already good at what they do.  They already look the way that they look, if God wanted to make you them, then He would have.  But He didn’t, He made you, you instead.

Image result for learning to love yourselfThe only thing that we can do is learn to embrace ourselves our gifts and find out how God wishes to use those gifts.  Can you imagine if Sam Smith stayed on trying to sing like some else and being like someone else.  He would have missed out on his blessing all together.  Now imagine how many of us are missing out on our own blessing because we refused to accept ourselves for who we are and we continue to look at at other peoples lives wishing that we were them, wishing we had their life, their husband, their home, or their money?

For everything that you are, flaws and all, God made you this way. It is your unique set of flaws, gifts, and imperfections that make up you.  And it is both the good and and the not so good part of you that God can use to get you were He wants you to be.  The only way that you will get there is coming to terms with yourself.  Coming to terms that you are yourself, you are going to be stuck with yourself forever, and praying that God can use your unique set of gifts that only you have that can propel you to the next level.

True success I am convinced only comes with you learning to be you.  After all, if you put on a fake self to get where you want to be, this is the same fake self that you are always going to have to maintain.  Missing out on the opportunity to show people the real you.

Image result for lupita nyongo people magazineIn closing I give this example.  Lupita Nyong'o.  Who knew that she would be voted People most beautiful person last year.  She is very dark skinned, short hair, no weave, and of African decent.  Not the usual sense of beauty that is on the cover of magazine.  But when God says yes, who can say no.  It is those unique attributes that caused her to be in the movie 12 Years Slave.  Which propelled her to the next level.  Had she been light skinned with a long blonde weave down to her butt, then she may have not fit into the role so well.  But she embrace herself and saw her own beauty, and because she believed in herself, we all believed in her too.
